D300 vs D300s reviews

Nikon announced a new Nikon D300s, so I decided to post quick comparison between the Nikon D300 old and new Nikon D300s.

Generally, the new D300s that cameras like D300 in terms of features except the following.

  1. D300s will shoot HD movies at 720p resolution, 24 FPS with stereo sound. The maximum length is 5 minutes for 720p and 20 minutes for lower resolution video.
  2. D300s will be slightly faster than the D300, shooting 7 FPS mode g (Nikon D300 is a 6 FPS). With MB-D10 battery pack to shoot 8 FPS.
  3. Mode, new "Q" (quiet shutter - release) will be added right after its high-speed dial (continued).
  4. Card slot Dual - Nikon D300s will feature the two cards work with both CompactFlash and SD (SDHC-cards) as. Can be used as primary. Vice card can store a backup or overflow, or separate storage of NEF (RAW). and JPEG photos and images can be copied between cards.
  5. Active D-Lighting is now "Auto" and "Extra High" Add. "Auto" is expected to be both D700 and D90 has this mode. "Extra High" is something new though.
  6. Nikon D300s little hard D300 more than 15 grams total weight and weight 840g.
  7. Nikon D300s only "LV" (LiveView) and "Info button" on the back of the camera.

With the new Nikon D300s, Nikon launch entry level Nikon D3000 (which replace the D60) with two lenses improve - Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 DX and Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II. I'm really not interested 18. -200mm update as I sell my lens and I was shooting with primes rather quality, but instead of 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II certainly improving all the values have been waiting for. price point, but 70-200mm left scratching my head. my $ 2400 too expensive ... darn! $ 500 more than what the current generation of 70-200mm f/2.8 is for sale.

D300s is worth upgrading if you are not interested in D300 and video features (type of sucks because I was looking forward to full HD 1080p) is not worth the upgrade. D300s new sensor of the D300 is the same old ground. Is. D300s are two good slot and frame rate faster, but nothing special.
